The south coast is where Mykonos keeps its best sand, and the hotel sits in the middle of it. These are the five beaches we send guests to most, ranked not by quality — they are all beautiful — but by mood.
Psarou, steps from the hotel, is the glamorous one: fine sand, still water and superyachts anchored offshore. Platis Gialos next door is the easy one — family-friendly, lined with tavernas, with the boat shuttle to the party beaches leaving from its jetty.
Ornos is the sheltered bay we recommend on windy days. Paradise and Super Paradise are the loud ones — go after four in the afternoon when the DJs start, not before. And Agios Ioannis, facing Delos, is the quiet romantic: the best sunset dinner on the island.
One local rule: the meltemi wind decides everything in July and August. Before you commit to a beach day, ask us which coast is calm — it takes us thirty seconds and saves you an afternoon.
