When to visit Mykonos: an honest month-by-month guide

When to visit Mykonos: an honest month-by-month guide

May and early June are the connoisseur’s choice: everything is open, the sea is warming up, and you can still get a table anywhere. The light is extraordinary and the hills are, for a few short weeks, actually green.

July and August are peak Mykonos: the loudest, fullest, most expensive version of the island. If that is the energy you came for, book restaurants and sunbeds days ahead and embrace it. The meltemi wind blows hardest now too — welcome relief in the heat, but check the forecast before boat trips.

September might be the best month of all. The sea is at its warmest, the crowds thin noticeably after the first week, and the island exhales. October is quieter still: some venues close, but the swimming often holds until the middle of the month.

Whenever you come, the hotel’s bookable dates and live availability are on the booking page — and if your dates are flexible, write to us first; we will tell you honestly what the island will feel like that week.
